Intel 6th Generation PCH is compatible with Skylake series processors. This series includes Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and Intel Xeon processors. It features the LGA1151 socket type and offers broad support for desktop, mobile and server platforms.

Intel 6th Generation PCH includes the 100 series and C230 series chipsets. These series use a BGA (Ball Grid Array) package and have the following basic pin configurations:
- PCIe Lines: 20 PCIe Gen 3 lines supported.
- USB Connections: 10 USB 3.0 and 14 USB 2.0 ports.
- SATA Connections: 6 SATA 6Gbps ports and support for Intel Rapid Storage Technology.
- Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C support.
- Intel HD Audio support.
📏 Physical Properties
The Intel 6th Generation PCH is usually in a BGA package measuring 23 mm x 23 mm. The chip is designed using a lead-free solder ball composition (Sn-Ag-Cu). This complies with environmental standards and provides better thermal performance.
🔥 Thermal Properties
The maximum operating temperature of Intel 6th Generation PCH can reach up to 100°C. Normal operating temperatures are usually between 40°C and 70°C. To improve thermal performance, the use of heatsinks and thermal paste is recommended.

Intel 6th Generation PCH is manufactured using the 22nm manufacturing process. This manufacturing technology offers lower power consumption and higher performance. Production takes place in Intel’s factories in the US, Ireland and Israel.
📦 Package Information
Intel 6th Generation PCH is available in BGA 1440 and BGA 1356 packages. These packages are soldered directly to the motherboard and cannot be replaced. Therefore, care must be taken during repair and replacement processes.
